There are about thirty species of lavender or true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) that grows over 800m and spike lavender or "large lavender" found below this altitude.

The lavender, meanwhile, stems crossing pollen of these 2 species of lavender.

Compared to the essential oil of lavender, essential oil of spike lavender contains many 1.8-cineol and linalool and camphor.

  • Chemotype: linalool, cineole-1,8
  • Extraction: to water vapor

Use

  • In herbal tea: 1-2 drops of essential oil in a little honey, all diluted in warm infusion.
  • In your diet: a few drops and sometimes only one, subtly enough to flavor a salad, a dish of meat or fish, dessert.
