Agave
Close to the Yucca, the Agave is a plant from Mexico with thick leaves ending with a spike. It has been used for a long time to make the drink called 'tequila'. Today, the powder and the agave syrup (obtained from the sap of the plant) are used in the culinary sector because they possess a high sweetening power combined to a low glycemic index. The powder and the agave syrup therefore constitute an interesting alternative to the classic sugar.
