Coleus Forskohlii (Active ingredient)

Coleus forskohlii (or Plectranthus barbatus) is a perennial plant in the Lamiaceae family, a cousin of mint and nettle.
This tropical plant, native to India, is mainly cultivated for its forskolin: a component extracted from its root. Forskolin is a well-known ingredient in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
Coleus helps reduce cramps and blood pressure and fight against stress and depression. It would even have an effect on eyesight when the pressure in the eye is too high.
It is also attributed "slimming" virtues by its action on the metabolism of sugars and fats. Indeed, Coleus forskohlii helps reduce the amount of fat circulating in the blood and promote weight loss without affecting muscle mass.
The use of Coleus Forskohlii is not recommended in pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children.
