Amla, a small fruit rich in vitamin C


Amla is a tree of the euphorbiaceae family commonly called "Indian or Nepalese currant". It indeed bears fruits that resemble currants but does not however belong to the same species. Amla is a tree renowned for its longevity and has been used for hundreds of years in Indian tradition. As such, it is involved in many preparations, the most famous of which is Chyawanprash, a kind of jam consumed by millions of Indians.

Amla is rich in naturally occurring vitamin C and naturally contains bioflavonoids.

Properties

Vitamin C is involved in many reactions in the body :
  • it participates in the formation of collagen to ensure the normal functioning of blood vessels, bones, cartilages, gums, teeth but also of the skin.
  • it contributes to energy metabolism thus helping to reduce fatigue.
  • it participates in the functioning of the nervous system.
  • it is involved in the functioning of the immune system.
  • it helps protect cells against oxidative stress. In addition, it is involved in the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.
  • it increases the absorption of iron.

Use

Take 1/2 tablet per day.

Composition

For 1/2 tablet (recommended daily portion: 472.75mg of sugar *, 160mg of amla extract * (Phyllanthus emblica L.) containing 80mg of vitamin C (100% RDA) and 16mg of bioflavonoids. Bulking agent: wheat syrup *, acacia gum *, talc Natural flavors: orange and blackcurrant Anti-caking agent: colloidal silica.
