The Xanthan gum is a powder that can give a gel texture to your homemade organic cosmetics.

Xanthan Gum: gelling ingredient


The Xanthan Gum increases viscosity liquids.
In cosmetics, it basically allows you to make gels, eye contours, shampoos and shower gels.

Environmentally friendly and devoid of danger gelling of natural origin is allowed in cosmetics charge notebooks bio.

Xanthan Gum is a version Bioflore "transparent" highly sought because it does not influence the color of preparations to which it fits. It allows for example to obtain a truly transparent gel.

Use

Xanthan Gum integrates with cold or hot in the aqueous phase of your preparations.
We advise you to slightly heat the aqueous phase and integrate xanthan gum gradually by rain.
Whisk well to make disappear lumps.

Use

  • For a fluid gel: xanthan gum will be less than 1% of the total volume of the preparation.
  • To a thick gel: up to 2% Xanthan Gum.
  • To give a smooth and soft texture to a light emulsion prepared by diluting up to 0.3% of xanthan gum in the aqueous phase of the preparation.

Equivalence: 1 ml = 0.7 g.

Trick

To make a soothing eye contour gel: mixing cornflower hydrosol with Xanthan Gum and maximum 1% essential oil (eg Mastic for swollen eyelids).
