Maytenus (Active ingredient)

The Maytenus is a small tree native to the Amazon whose thorny leaves resemble those of holly. Friend of digestion, Maytenus is traditionally used in Brazilian pharmacopoeia. It lightens the stomach after a large meal, relieves acidity (heartburn) and helps reduce bloating. By stopping abnormal gastrointestinal fermentations, Maytenus effectively relieves aerophagia.
