Founded in 1946, the Laboratoire Carrare is Solange le Hir’s work, a nurse who discovered the virtues of fresh brewer's yeast at the end of the Second World War. A few years later, she discovered how to dehydrate this ingredient without reducing its nutrients and thus making it accessible to the public. In 1951, the first product of the Laboratoire Carrare came to light after conducting much research: Lyophilevure, one of the first food supplements resulting from lyophilisation (freeze drying).

In 1994, the laboratory, specialised in micro-organisms, launched a new type of product: the combination of probiotic / prebiotic. A first mover in France in the marketing of probiotics, Carrare only uses documented strains belonging to the best studied species in the scientific field. The laboratory also certifies that none of its products contain genetically modified organisms.

The Bioprotus product range from Carrare (combining lactic ferments and fibers) caters to everyone: young or old, man or woman. In the early 2000s, Carrare took over the company DIETACTIV and thus developed its range of phytotherapy products. The laboratory offers unique formulas, concentrated and developed from the best plant active ingredients which nature can provide. Over time, Laboratoire Carrare has asserted itself as a creator of well-being combining original formulations, quality of ingredients, effectiveness of products and also a brand listening to its consumers. Since its creation, the French laboratory is engaged in developing effective and innovative products which meet the needs of the body.
