Hydroxyproline is an amino acid which allows the formation of covalent bonds between different polypeptide chains, thus making their structure more resistant. Hydroxyproline is abundantly present in collagen, which contributes to the constitution and resistance of body tissues. It is therefore an active principle that is found in certain anti-aging food supplements where its firming properties are valued.
