Nard exists in the wild in the valleys of the Himalayas and Yunnan. It has many similarities with valerian, but its smell is much more pleasant. Like oliban and myrrh, it is a perfume and a remedy known since the highest antiquity. Its essential oil contains sesquiterpenes and sesquiterpenols.
