The essential oil extracted from the fruits (or "seeds") of cumin consists of a large amount of aldehydes.
Properties
Its basic property is identical to that of other essential oils of umbellifera - dill, caraway, coriander, fennel: it is an aperitif and stimulates digestion. A big difference with the latter: the essential oil of cumin is calming and even sedative.
Virtues
The main aroma of Cumin is very powerful and comes from the spice of the same name. Its intensity limits its use.
Trick
To digest and sleep well, add a few drops of essential oil of Cumin in the cooking juice of your couscous, at the end of preparation. Better yet, incorporate 1 or 2 drops in a chickpea puree, the taste compatibility is perfect.
