Otho Multizym is a dietary supplement containing digestive enzymes protease, amylase, glucoamylase, invertase and lipase.

Synthesized by the digestive system, digestive enzymes allow fractionation of complex molecules into simpler molecules, absorbed by the body. They are produced in the saliva, the stomach and the pancreas.

Each enzyme acts on a specific substrate, and we identified three types:
- The proteolytic enzymes that operate on proteins.
- The glucolytiques enzymes that operate on carbohydrates.
- Lipolytic enzymes that operate on lipids.

Digestive enzymes generally have names ending in "ASE", depending on the molecule they transform. For example, proteases digest proteins, lipids lipases, amylases starch.

Indication

  • A protease is an enzyme which cuts peptide bonds of proteins. They are also called: peptidase or proteolytic enzyme.
  • An amylase is an enzyme from the family of hydrolases, primarily catalyzing the hydrolysis of starch into reducing sugars.
  • Glucoamylase is an enzyme that breaks down the sugar chains such as maltose until the simplest sugar, glucose.
  • An invertase is an enzyme which hydrolyzes sucrose into glucose and fructose. It is found in the cells of the yeast. It is also called sucrase or sucrase.
  • A lipase is a water-soluble enzyme capable of the hydrolysis of the ester functions and is specialized in the processing of triglyceride (lipid) to glycerol and fatty acids (lipolysis).

Use

Take 1-2 capsules per day, before or during the meal.

Composition

For 2 capsules (recommended daily intake): 75mg Protease 40400 HUT *, 40 mg amylase OF 6000 *, 20 mg AGU glucoamylases 20 *, 18.4 mg protease SAPU 20.2 *, 8 mg of invertase SU * 800, 5.6 mg lipase FIP 1000 *. Agent: microcrystalline cellulose. Angiagglomérants: magnesium stearate, colloidal silica. Capsule: hypromellose.

* = SAPU Spectrophotometric acid protease units
* SU = Summer unites
* = FIP International Pharmaceutical Federation, 1000 = 10,000 FIP lipase unit.
