Originally from southern Europe, the rose bushes of Damascus are thorny shrubs bearing regular flowers, large, solitary or highbush.The petals are five in the wild species and many more in the cultivated varieties.
The fruit, red hue and called rosehip, is filled with small grains. It needs a clay soil, rich and well exposed to the sun.
The rose bush of Damascus flowers twice a year.
