Neem oil: natural solution against insects and parasites

Neem ( Azadirachta indica ) or neem, is a tree native to India belonging to the Meliaceae family. When ripe, the neem tree can produce up to 50 kg of fruit, which is equivalent to 30 kg of seeds. Rich in azadirachtin, the oil extracted from the seeds is commonly referred to as neem oil . As important as it is, azadirachtin is not the only active ingredient.

Properties

The properties of neem oil are specific:
  • Anti-bacterial
  • Antifungal
  • Insect repellent
  • Effective against tartar

Use

  • We can easily associate Bioflore neem oil, at the service of loaded skin, with essential oils of tea tree , laurel or palmarosa . Do not drown essential oils in neem oil: a small part is enough because the oil is active, penetrates easily and needs essential oils so that its very particular roasted smell is softened.
  • In the same way, associate it with essential oils of tea tree , geranium or palmarosa for its antifungal action.

Trick

Here are some instant recipes offered by Bioflore:
For acne-prone skin
In a container, pour 6.5 ml of aloe vera gel . With a mini-whisk, slowly add 3 ml of neem oil. Finally, incorporate 10 drops of tee tree essential oil. Pour the preparation into a 10 ml roll-on applicator.

To repel insects
Combine neem oil as an additional active ingredient with Bioflore's Vade Retro composition. On the skin, to be used as is or to incorporate the whole in the base body milk.

As a parasite repellent (anti-lice mask)
For a volume of 10 ml: 4 drops of super lavender essential oil, 4 drops of tea tree essential oil, 2 drops of clove essential oil, 3 ml of neem oil and 6.5 ml of coconut oil. Apply for a few hours and then use a fine comb. To be renewed as regularly as necessary, until the nits disappear.

Homemade toothpaste
The base of your toothpaste is superfine white clay. Optionally add a little baking soda for the whitening effect. Slowly add a little water until you get a paste. Stir in some neem oil and an essential oil, which can be peppermint , tea tree , cineole rosemary , etc.

To control mites or pests of ornamental plants and the garden
