The essential oil of Ceylon cinnamon (or "true" cinnamon) has an aroma recognizable among all: intense, hot, "sweet".
Note that a similar species, the Chinese cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia), sometimes called "false cinnamon", produces through its leaves a relatively comparable essential oil.
